Christmas markets in Verona: the biggest in Italy

On Friday, November 16th, the famous Christmas markets have begun, throughout the province of Verona, to illuminate and warm the hearts of many Christmas fans. Le Figaro, a well-known French newspaper, has awarded Verona Christmas market as the fourth tourist attraction in Europe, behind only those in Vienna, Budapest and Copenhagen. Last December, more than 4 and a half million presences were recorded and, this year, the goal announced by the Verona mayor Sboarina is to exceed 5 million visitors who would create revenues of more than 50 million euros. The main Christmas markets, in addition to those in the center of Verona, are located in Garda, Malcesine and Bussolengo.

Continuing on the Gardesana road, you can get to the Scaliger Castle of Malcesine which houses the famous Elven Village and hosts the performances of magicians, puppeteers and jugglers.

The village of Santa Claus in Bussolengo

In Bussolengo, until 6 January, it is possible to visit the largest indoor Christmas market in Italy. In the 7000 square meters of the structure you can find practically any object to adorn the original tree or nativity scene and for the little ones there is also the House of Santa Claus.
