A solidarity restauration: this is “A restauration for Marche Region”,project created by Musei d’Arte Monumenti of Verona, to whom Amici dei Civici Musei of Verona and Mantua have taken part with passion. The associations have helped Museo Piersanti of Matelica, city near Macerata, that was closed after the earthquake.
The Presidents, Isabella Gaetani di Canossa of Verona and Italo Scaietta of Mantua, with their associations have paid the restauration of the wonderful painting “Madonna con il Bambino e san Giovannino” (Madonna with Child with Young John the Baptiste) by Sebastiano Conca, that was damaged during the two earthquakes in August and October 2016. The restauration has already realized by Angela Allegrini. Museo Piersanti, in order to thank Verona and Mantua, has allowed Museo Castelvecchio to exhibit it in Sala Boggian from 20th May to 27th August.
The exhibition wants also to make people opened to the respect and restauration of the paintings in Marche Region, according to the Ministero dei Beni, delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo, which is working for the protection of the artistic heritage of this land.
